Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Claims Involving Player Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night indicating they are aware of claims of abuse circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the league office.
The team did not mention Rice by name in their announcement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice directly, shared a set of images on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She stated the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the team drafted in the second round.

No official complaints were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles
The receiver missed the first six games of this season due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
On the field, he concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
