Three Athletes Shortlisted for Young Sports Star Prize

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Sports Star of the Year award.
These three athletes have been recognised for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a unprecedented innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The finalists were announced live on a national radio breakfast show.
The 2025 recipient will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.
The show will be broadcast from 19:00 GMT.
The Football Star

A mere three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the knockout stage games.
These match-saving moments led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Subsequently, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the best young player in Europe.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.
"To be named a finalist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."
Littler's Profile

Littler's 2025 began in sensational style as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
He didn't stop there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.
"Being nominated for the honour once more is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."
The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin came in second place in the season's run tally and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.
"I'm truly honoured to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it encourages more young females to get into cricket."
